[STREET] How I turned $4 into $10!

Hey, hey, eMarketers!

Here's a quick trivia before we start:
What if you saw this major opportunity to join a really good business opportunity but you needed $10 and you were broke?

On top of that, the offer was limited to a couple days, there was nobody you could ask and had to come up with the dough by yourself, what would you do?

Would you:
  • Do nothing about it?
  • Sell something to get the cash?

It's known for a fact that most people would do the first.

However, if you really wanted to join, you'd start by selling something you had. And since you're on the computer already, why not take a few happy-snaps and post an ad on eBay or Craigslist?

Of course you could do that... but those 2 and more are victims of their own success: it takes too long for someone to notice your ad and actually contact you.

Since it would take ages for you to sell something on the internet and the clock is ticking, you have to think outside the box... which is your computer.

Now, that brought me a thought: If McDonalds can't go to Mohammed..., then I guess Mohammed just has to go to McDonalds!

That is... instead of you waiting for the customers, you go and meet them. How? Here's how...

I took a test today and decided to sell some semi-new computer parts I had in my possession.

I sent some emails to stores and but didn't just stood there to see if they'd reply. After some browsing I found a company that would actually buy my stuff.

But it was accross the city... So, I proposed to myself: "I'll limit myself to use only 3€ (around $4) and see if I can do it!"

Train tickets were $3.60, but here in Lisbon, they're measured maily by time. They allow you to go back to the point of origin if you get back to the station 30 minutes before the ticket expires.

I got in at exactly 5p.m. and the ticket would expire 2 hours later.

After some time I arrived in the area, I began searching for the pawn shop. Not knowing the exact location I asked around and eventually found it. ;-)~

I brought a USB drive and some other things and named my price, $14. The guy at the counter rejected most of the things but offered me $10 for the drive.

Since I was in a hurry because I needed to get back to the station, there was no time to negotiate and after checking out legal stuff, we completed the transaction.

Before I left the store, their clock was marking 6:18p.m..

That gave me little less than 10 minutes to run about a mile!

It had been a long day, so I was tired, still am actually but I managed to reach the station 3 before the ticket expiry time.

Doing the math that tells me that I had a $6 profit, not bad, eh?

But that's not the whole story. I checked my inbox and had no reply from the guys I sent the emails to.

If I had stayed at home waiting for them, I wouldn't have earned any money.

What I meant will all this is.. you may not have the money, but you do have ideas and nowadays, you can convert ideas into $$$. You just gotta give it a try.

Don't just stay in front of your computer all day long, go out there and try to get things done! :-)~

Something I've found on CF's Twitter page I wanted to share with ya. :-)~

3 Alternatives to Amazon's Mechanical Turk Worker + Scam Warnings

First and foremost, what is Amazon's Mechanical Turk Worker?

Also referred to as MTurk, it's a Micro Jobs platform where you can earn money by completing simple tasks.

Tasks offer you from $0,00 (yeah, go figure) up to $40 or more.

It does take you some skill to get started on it but it's very easy to earn around $6 per day with tasks averaging in about $0,09.

That would be very nice and all but the problem is that due to abusive users entering false/incorrect data, MTurk only accepts users from the U.S. or India.

But what if you still wanted to earn money using such a system? Well... we're about to find that out, eh? ;-)~

Here are a few alternatives to MTurk that accept users from all over the world:

CrowdFlower : 5/5

The pay averages between $0,01 and $0,89.

Usually, you can do the same task over and over because they need it to be done on several sites.

I've worked with them before and I totally recommend it. Youshould definitely use CF to get a decent income.

The biggest problem, however, is its contributor layout:
if you just went to the tasks page, you'll have a hard time finding tasks that you, as a Level 0, can do.

They split the skill Level on 3 tiers. Averages lower than 75% are usually kept away from the site for some time, and you can even get booted out for good.

CF's support team has a very long response time too: I've submitted 2 tickets over 48h ago and I'm still waiting for an answer... >:-(~

All in all, take your time doing a good job, so you can qualify for at least Level 1 and always have jobs available. Sign-up as a contributor too, that is if you can.
I tried using 2 different web browsers but couldn't, must be a glitch...

MicroWorkers: 3/5

On this platform, anyone can join in and both offer a task or complete a task, as their slogan says.

The problem with it, is that anyone can post useless jobs or stuff that doesn't really matter.

Still, it pays higher than CF, averaging to $0,10.

The quantity of the tasks available is slightly higher too, since anyone can join. Most jobs only require you to join in and sign up to something or make a post.

What I disliked the most is that after requesting a withdrawal, it can take up to 30 days to be processed, and since their minimum is just $9, it may not be that worth it.

Anyways, I'd recommend it for starters.

CrowdSource: 3/5

I haven't tried this one but I've seen it before. It offers writing and the regular type.

Their site seems to be more keen on clients rather than workers so not much is known about it.

And of course, this post wouldn't be completed without some scam warnings!

Below are sites that don't pay or don't have tasks available. In a few words... DON'T join the sites below:

  • Short Task - Very poor reviews
  • ClickWorkers - Never has tasks available
  • MicroTurks - Not many tasks available; not a busy site

Hope this helps ya,

[LIVE!] Facebook Spam Bomb!

OMG! OMG! OMG!

Guys you have no idea what's going on in a Facebook MLM Group!

So, I opened up my email provider and I had OVER 150 messages from Facebook!

I thought to myself "WHAT THE HEEEEELL!!!?"

When I got to the Facebook page I saw some guy promoting one of his Affiliate Links:

Turns out he was an All In One Profits Member...

While the program did seem to be a good opportunity, he was promoting it in the wrong way:

He tagged hundreds, no joke, HUNDREDS of group members! Maybe even more; I didn't saw the whole list.

Don't believe me? Just look for yourself:

Wait up, there's more:

Plus a few more pages...

Then, when, EVERYONE who got the email spam bomb, went to the Facebook wall where that crap was displayed and began complaining!

He was getting reported to AIOP.com and Facebook:

Obviously, other guys grabbed the opportunity and started spamming as well, thus getting reported again.

I was expecting some emails so, I couldn't turn off notifications.

Finally, some folks and I reported him to AIOP.com which quickly resolved the issue as you can see here:

No point blocking my own name, since you already know who I am. :-)~

He lost his account and probably his commissions too. It was a shame that AIOP.com had its image tamished over something so trivial.

But he got what he deserved. CAN-SPAM Act is very clear on this and people aren't supposed to post useless links just to get a sale.

I did lose an important email which only made things worse :-(~

So, if you were thinking about using free services to flood other people with this sort of advertising techniques, please reconsider.

When you signed up for the program you're advertising, you agreed not to spam. If you do, you'll lose your account, your profits and the company will be blocked from other sites.

It isn't just you who loses, it's everyone connected to your Affiliate Program's Networks.

Just like reCaptcha says: Stop Spam, Read Books.

P.S.: "kciked" = kicked. Yes it's a typo. Get over it. ;-)~

1 Amazing Tip to help you choose a domain name

Hi, fellow eMarketers! How's it going for ya? ;-)~

So you've checked the first step and it shows you that you must get your domain name. If you haven't took this step yet then click here and see what you have to do to complete it.

And while you're at it, let me tell you something that can help you increase your overall website traffic.

In order to get a decent organic exposure, that is visitors straight from Google, you want to pick a website name that's really connected to your niche but, at the same time, not very used.

In a more specific example, if you want your site to be about Animals... you'd want to target a more targeted audience because under the Category "Animals" you have subcategories like "Dogs", "Birds", "Insects", "Mammals" and so on.

The "Animals" keyword is too broad because it includes all of that, and you'll have to compete with a lot of folks in order to get organic traffic.

To counter this, select a keyword that's more related to the line of work you do on "Animals" and has consistent searches from Google users, that also has a lower competition.

HOW?

Google provides you with the Keyword Planner that gives you insight of the search volume of the keywords you're looking.

Let's compare 3 keywords, from a broader aspect to a more specific search: "Animals", "Dog Training" and "Rottweiler training", with quotes for exact search match.

First up, "Animals":

I don't know how to change Google Account's Default language but you still understand that you have almost 1 billion results from this search.

That's a lot and your website is brand new, it won't even make it to the last million or so.

Then, "Dog Training":

Less than 5 million results, that's about 98% less websites that are targeting the same as you. When comparing to the previous Keyword, this is a much better alternative.

To finish, let's check out "Rottweiler training":

Success! Now you have a much better chance of making it to the first page since there are only 43K sites promoting the same as you.

What this means is that you gotta target a specific group of people and help them solve the problem with the services you're providing.

But, being too specific can have negative own consequences of its. See, you want to get a good Search Engine Result Page ranking, but if you're just focusing on a very tight group of people you'll be limited to that amount of people.

Here take a look:

You'll need about 150,000 visitors per month to have a good revenue and in this case... well I just hope you're not promoting this! ;-)~

Pick something that is locked on to a set of communities rather than a very hot topic.
Two examples of that are Website Development and Online Income.

WINTEMO has a good domain name so it gets a fair bit of organic visitors for its lifespan.

That's it folks! I hope this helped you choosing a good domain name so you can also get organic traffic!

Thank you for being with me!
